AiLeader iBinarize is AiLeader’s solution for the binarization of color images. iBinarize is a software component completely parameterizable which may be integrated into any application for the conversion of color images into monochromatic images.

The component can binarize any kind of image, but it does implement special handling techniques for bank check color images. AiLeader iBinarize is a powerful engine that automates the binarization process of bank checks by means of image processing and artificial intelligence techniques. The system is able to binarize grayscale images, keeping the relevant information (foreground) and removing the background. Furthermore, the solution provides an intelligent mechanism for binarizing bank check images.

iBinarize is able to perform image transformations, such as: rotation, translation, slant correction, resizing and removal of borders or other irrelevant parts (such as the bank logo). Besides the speed and binarization quality, iBinarize was designed to generate binary images as small as possible (i.e., 12kB for bank check images), which eases the transmission and the storage of the image. The system is able to deal with several image file formats: JPG, BMP, TIF, PNG and GIF.

The iBinarize engine is a software component that can be used by any check processing system, or any system that requires similar binarization features. The component can be easily integrated with applications developed in many programming languages, such as C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, Delphi. iBinarize also supports MS Windows ®, Unix and Linux platforms.
