AiLeader iDoc is a powerful engine used to automate the reading process of any document by means of image processing and artificial intelligence techniques. The system is able to recognize several types of fields, like handwritten and printed text, numbers, 1-D and 2-D barcodes, check marks, etc.

iDoc is a flexible solution, allowing the user to specify templates for documents, with recognition information for each field in the document. An example is shown below. Some fields were highlighted and the user set their types: for the “Name” field the system will try to recognize hand-printed text, for the “Postal Code” field the system will try to recognize numbers, and so on.

Alternatively, the user may choose to let the system infer the type of each field, which leads to a completely automatic recognition process. That feature is very useful when the documents to be recognized do not have a pre-defined format, such as newspapers, magazines, etc.

AI Leader iDoc is available as a service that can be consumed by our customers. This allows for seamless integration between the customer application and iDoc, since no installations are needed on the client side. That means our customers do not need to configure and maintain computers up and running to perform the recognition process; AI Leader takes care of that, and all the customers need to know is the service’s interface. iDoc is designed to provide high availability through replicated servers. It is also very scalable, being able to cope with any volume of information, and includes all necessary security mechanisms to ensure the customer’s data is safe.

High Availability
We know our customers expect a reliable service, which can be accessed 24/7. Although our servers use state-of-the-art technology to ensure they are always up and running, there exist events that may bring them down, such as maintenance re-boots, hardware failures, etc. Aiming to cope with those difficulties, AI Leader iDoc implements a distributed architecture, illustrated in Figure 2, with replicated servers that might automatically replace a damaged node, which makes the iDoc service always available to our customers.
